Pacific Werribee Project Update
Proactive Safety Management Update
Published 13 September

As part of our responsible proactive safety management practices at Pacific Werribee, we have been working with specialist consultants after they identified that a program of works was required to reinforce sections of the structure within the most recently completed part of the Centre.

The safety and wellbeing of all those that visit and work at Pacific Werribee remains our number one priority.

As soon as these issues were brought to our attention, we took immediate action to address them by installing temporary support measures such as exclusion zones, props, and cantilever beams in a number of areas pending the commencement of the permanent remediation works.

We now believe we are equipped with a solution to permanently reinforce the identified sections of the structure and have commenced a process to appoint a contractor to carry out these works.

While the full scope and timings of the works are still being finalised, they’re currently anticipated to be completed in stages, with the first stage expected to commence in early 2022.

We expect to be able to share more details with our community in the near future, once we appoint a contractor and finalise the scope of the works. Please keep an eye on our website for these regular updates.

Our specialist consultants have confirmed that the Centre remains safe for occupation and operation.

We sincerely thank our community for their ongoing patience, understanding and cooperation during this time.

Previous updates | July 2020
As part of our ongoing responsible management practices, we have temporarily installed structural props in areas of the Centre where potential rectification works are required. These precautionary and proactive measures have been implemented as part of our responsible operational management practices for Pacific Werribee, allowing our rectification works to proceed in the safest possible manner. Pacific Werribee remains open and trading as usual while these precautionary works take place. While a small number of car parking spaces on the ground and lower ground floor directly adjacent to the props and the lower ground Tavern car park are temporarily unavailable for use, all other car parks remain open. These measures and works are being undertaken to ensure that we maintain both a safe working environment and a safe customer environment. Please be assured that the safety and wellbeing of our entire community remains our overriding priority. We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
